How Can We Help you?

What are Types of PoE Switches?

Unmanaged: Plug-and-play, no configuration needed, ideal for simple setups.

Managed: Offers advanced control, monitoring, VLANs, and remote management for complex networks.

Standard (Active) PoE: Uses IEEE standards (like 802.3af, 802.3at, 802.3bt) to negotiate power levels safely between the switch) and the device

Passive PoE: Non-standard; applies power constantly without negotiation, risking device damage if the connected device isn’t PoE-compatible

Choose a PoE switch based on the number of devices, network speed, PoE power requirements, total power budget, and management features you need. For advanced networks, a managed PoE switch is usually the better choice.

Yes. You can connect two PoE switches using an Ethernet cable. The connection can extend your network and allow devices connected to both switches to communicate with each other.

Yes, with standard Active PoE, a compatible PoE switch checks the connected device before supplying power. A non PoE device can normally use the network connection without receiving PoE power.

You may need a PoE injector if your existing network switch does not support PoE. A PoE injector adds power to the Ethernet cable so you can connect a PoE device without replacing your existing switch.

The power limit depends on the PoE standard and switch model. Common standards include 802.3af, 802.3at, and 802.3bt, which provide different levels of power. Always check the switch’s total PoE power budget and the connected device’s requirements.

PoE Watchdog is a feature that automatically monitors connected PoE devices. If a device becomes unresponsive, the switch can automatically restart its PoE power to restore the connection.

QoS (Quality of Service) prioritizes important network traffic. It can give higher priority to applications such as voice calls, video, and surveillance traffic to help maintain better performance.

A Cloud Managed Switch allows you to configure, monitor, and manage your network remotely through a cloud based platform. It is useful for managing switches across multiple locations without needing to access each switch physically.
